About Me
Chattanooga, Tennessee native Steven Hopkins fell in love with music at a young age when he discovered The Beatles' "Revolver" in his parents' CD collection. He started guitar lessons at age 8 and never looked back. In middle school, Steven joined a contemporary worship band. Since there were too many guitar players already, Steven started playing bass and percussion instead while also taking on live sound duties, thus beginning a journey in audio engineering.
Steven graduated from Boston's Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Production & Engineering. In 2011, he moved to Nashville to work with then-up-and-coming alt rockers New Madrid. During that time he also toured the southeast with Episcopal rock band Sloan River Project. After a taste of the road life, Steven bought a van and traveled for a year, later settling back to Massachusetts to pursue a career in audio. As a full-time freelancer, he has spent time in recording studios, on the road, and at some of New England's finest wedding venues running sound for the area's top wedding bands.
